What?! You’re getting a Cosmetic Surgery?!

Cosmetic surgery has become common-place in our society as it recieves more and more exposure. Much of this exposure comes from Hollywood celebrities and other affluent individuals who are either attempting to improve their current appearance, or preserve themselves when faced with the effects of aging. Due to the nature of our society, these people hold a great amount of influence over the general population, and lower members of this population are often likely to immitate those they idolize. When a family member hears that one of their loved ones is likely to 'go under the knife', they are often brash in questioning them and their vain decison. They may feel like they have failed as a family member or friend for allowing this person to be so easily manipulated by popular culture. Plastic surgery has the ability to tear families apart, both literally and methaphorically. A person should seriously investigate the obvious harm plastic surgery could bring into their life. If having plastic surgery is necassary as a medical treatment, however, it is likely that explaining the situation to a persons family will not have such a negative effect, and may instead, bring the family closer together. People need to remeber, do what you are most comfortable with, not what you will be judged by, your family knows you best, and you only live once, so take your health and appearance seriously. Haveing such frivilous operations is almost never a good idea as they are expensive and harmful.

Male breast enhancement surgery is not about giving a man what would be considered womanly breasts. While most typical conversations surrounding breast enhancement centers around breast implants to give larger breasts, this is not what male breast enhancement does. Male breast enhancement is not going to enlarge the chest with breasts but rather the surgery is going to enhance a man's chest with muscle tone. A lot of men will hit the gym in an attempt to give themselves that muscular chest. The sad part is though that a lot of men will still never achieve the desired look no matter how much they work out at the gym. It is when the gym and all that weight lifting fail that cosmetic surgery can help to give a man the look he is desiring. This form of cosmetic surgery is also used not only to give a man a masculine chest but also to correct certain chest deformities that a man may have.

Pectoral implants are used by surgeon to
give a man the appearance of highly placed firm pectoral muscles. The implants are made from solid silicone. This silicone have been safely used for decades in the medical field. Unlike the implants that are used on women, these can not leak or rupture. Therefore they can safely use silicone versus the use of saline solution in women's implants. Since women's implants can leak or rupture they no longer can use silicone gel inside those implants. The implants can come in an assortment of sizes and shapes and are used to imitate a man's own natural shape of muscular pectoral muscles.

The procedure for pectoral implants is done usually in the surgeon's office or an outpatient center. The procedure last between 1 and 2 hours and the patient can go home shortly after the surgery is done. During the surgery the surgeon will make incisions in your armpits to gain access to the chest muscles. The implants will be placed underneath the naturally existing muscles in the chest. The surgeon will check to see if the implants are even prior to stitching up the incisions. You will then be watched for about 2 hours for any complications before being sent home. Common feelings after the surgery include feelings of being hot or cold and nausea may be felt. These are considered common and normal feelings.

While the materials used for this procedure have been used decades, procedure for male pectoral implants is still considered reasonably new, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in 2006 over 400 men have had this cosmetic surgery performed. The numbers that are reported for 2006 are double that of the numbers in 2005 for male breast enhancement surgery. To be a candidate for this type of surgery a man should be free of all diseases. Asthma and high blood pressure can place a patient at risk of complications during surgery. Therefore it is important to discuss with the surgeon any pre-existing medical conditions that may interfere with the surgical procedure. Body Dysmorphic Disorder And Jokes
