Plastic Surgery for Men

In today’s world both women and men want to appear youthful and so it is not unusual to find men of all ages getting plastic surgery done for purely cosmetic reasons. Like women, men request surgery to change how their noses look, make their faces look younger or even receive liposuction. There a many things that differ with regards to plastic surgery for men. These include the thickness of their skin and the way their facial hair grows. If a man chooses to get a face lift then his surgeon will determine if he has a receding hairline and will consider the fullness of his sideburns. He will also look for facial scars, sun damage and saggy skin on the neck. The skin on a man’s face receives a greater blood supply than a woman’s skin does which means that a man’s face will bleed more during surgery. This also means that men face a higher risk of having a hematoma, or pool of blood form underneath the skin following their procedure. Another factor to consider is that since men don’t normally wear makeup, they will find it difficult to hide any scarring that may occur as a result of their surgery.

Other procedures that men can opt for are calf implants, pectoral implants, and having a form of liposuction done on their abdomens that creates a rippled look. These are all fairly new procedures so if a man is thinking about having any of these procedures done he needs to make sure he speaks with a board-certified plastic surgeon that is skilled in these techniques.

When one is considering a sex change from female to male, they need to understand that the change involves more than just cutting one's hair and dressing in men's clothing. There is a lot of cosmetic surgery involved to change a person's full gender from female to male. The procedures are usually done in stages that allow for healing time in between each procedure. The stages in which the cosmetic surgeries are performed will vary from surgeon to surgeon and also depends on what procedures you need and which ones you do not need.

The process of changing the genitalia from that of a woman's vagina to that of a man's penis requires multiple procedures. First the internal sex organs must be removed. This will be done with a hysterectomy. Then the cosmetic surgeon will begin to create the male internal and external sex organs. Silicon implants will be inserted to create the testicles. An alternative that a cosmetic surgeon may use is fatty tissues to fill the scrotum instead of the silicone implants. The penile skin will be created from the abdominal skin and the
clitoris and labia. A silicone penis may be added to allow for a person to shape the penis up into an erect penis for sexual purposes. The penis will however have no sensations as well as the testicles will not serve the purpose that natural testicles would.

Breasts will have to be removed through a mastectomy. The chest can be contoured to a more masculine appearance through cosmetic surgery. The procedure to reconstruct the chest from a female to male contour has three areas that need to be addressed. First the nipples and areola need to be resized. The surgeon will scale these down to a small more masculine appearance. The smaller nipples and areola will then need to repositioned. The last thing that will be done is that the surgeon will be to shape the chest into a male contour. For small breasted women this is done using liposuction where as for a woman who had a larger chest area a more invasive cosmetic surgery will be needed. For the more invasive procedure the surgeon will make incisions and then remove the fat tissues and excess skin on the sides of the chest.

Cosmetic surgery can be performed on the face to give it a more masculine features. The lips, the jaw and the nose are areas that can be altered during surgery to achieve the desired results. The lips can be reduced in size to give for smaller lips that are more common in men. This is accomplished by removing skin from the inside of the mouth. The jaw is contoured using jaw augmentation. During jaw augmentation the jaw is widened to give a more masculine jaw. Rhinoplasty is used to reshape the nose. Most women have short and narrow noses while a males nose is wider and more broad. Rhinoplasty will be done to widen and add length to the patients nose.

With the combination of all the above cosmetic surgery procedures a person can successfully change their gender from female to male. To make the transition easier a person should seek out a cosmetic surgeon who specializes in gender reassignment. This will allow for finding a companionate surgeon who understands what the patient is going through. Male To Female2b Change
