How Plastic Surgery Changed My Life

I wouldn’t advise plastic surgery for everyone, but it indeed changed my life for the better. I was born with ears that stuck out unusually far. Which as a child was adorable, but as I got older they really caused me a lot of pain. I don’t mean physical pain, but the emotional kind. I was constantly teased and harassed all through my childhood and teenage years. Until one day, I sat down with my mother and we talked about plastic surgery. We decided to look into it and to see how much the procedure would cost. That was five years ago to this day, and my life has never been the same. I am confident, happy, and always ready to take on the world. Sometimes I see young people with physical deformities that go deeper than just “building character”. They have large cleft chin scars, acne scars, and noses that are simply too large for their faces. I tell them that t hey should look into plastic surgery as well. There comes a time when you need to be a truer you. I tell them the story of how plastic surgery changed my life. Plastic surgery was the best decision that I have ever made for myself. My mother is happier too, because she has a happy son. Thanks mom, plastic surgery really did change my life.

The procedure fulfills a prematurely bald man's need to look vital, young, and energetic, but one that has possible hazards. An unnatural look, especially in the early stages of transplantation, and failure to "take" are the most obvious ones, but infection, scarring, and loss of scalp or hair transplants can also occur.

A good candidate for liposuction can use this procedure to dramatically and quickly improve their appearance by having fatty deposits vacuumed out of their thighs, buttocks, etc. However, some perils related to this procedure demands calm deliberation. Fluid retention or fluid loss, which can result in shock, is a possibility. Also to be observed are asymmetry of the targeted areas, a rippling or bagginess of the skin, or changes in pigmentation. And infection remains a common enemy of all surgical procedures.

Another common cosmetic surgery is rhinoplasty, or a nose job. This operation doesn't just offer cosmetic goals, but can improve breathing in some instances. Infection can rear its ugly head again, as well as small blood vessels that can burst and result in tiny, permanent red spots. Also, being an aesthetic augmentation, any imperfection following surgery and recovery would have to be addressed with additional surgery.

An abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, flattens the abdomen by removing excess fat and tissue while tightening muscles. This is done, miraculously, without sit-ups or crunches. Risks concerning this form of cosmetic surgery include infection, blood clots, and poor healing due to scarring or skin loss. Also, the skin flap that results from this surgery may bleed underneath the affected area.

Cosmetic surgery has its own risks and uncertainty, just as any surgery does. The best way to minimize any potential problems is to take care in choosing a physician and to closely follow their advice before and after surgery.
